WeTransfer is the default way to send a big file: drop it in, get a link, done. For moving files between two people it is hard to beat. Delivering a wedding or a family session to a paying client is a different job, and that is where a client gallery earns its place.

Where WeTransfer is strong

It is the simplest possible transfer. There is nothing to set up, the recipient doesn’t need an account, and it is ideal for sending raw files to an editor, a lab or a second shooter.

  • It stays online. A free WeTransfer link expires after up to 3 days; if your client misses the window, you send it again. A CuratePics gallery stays available until you turn its link off or it reaches an end date you set, and a delivered gallery is never removed to free up space or by an automated job.
  • Your clients see your studio, not a file host. Your name, logo, colours and cover photo, with photos to scroll and open full screen rather than a zip to download blind.
  • Clients can choose. They heart their favourites and send you a selection, with a note, before anyone downloads anything.
  • Full resolution, every time. Originals are stored exactly as uploaded and that’s what clients download: all of them, just their favourites, or a smaller size for their phone.
  • Uploads that resume. Hundreds of frames go up in the background and pick up where they left off if the connection drops.

The honest verdict

Keep WeTransfer for quick transfers where no client is watching. When the photos are the deliverable, deliver them in a gallery that looks like your studio and isn’t removed to free up space. CuratePics is free to start with 25 GB.

02Pricing

CuratePics

One paid plan: Studio at £15/mo with 500 GB — every feature, nothing held back for a higher tier. Free tier 25 GB. Unlimited client downloads — priced per photographer, not per photo.

WeTransfer

Checked 19 October 2026 against WeTransfer's own pages: on the free plan "free transfers expire after up to 3 days and come with a monthly usage window", and recipients never need an account. Paid plans lift limits, and the top plan can remove the expiry. Their pricing page didn't load for us, so no prices are quoted here; check WeTransfer's site.

03Frequently asked questions

Is CuratePics better than WeTransfer for sending wedding photos?

For delivering a finished set to a client, yes. WeTransfer moves files; CuratePics delivers a gallery. Your client opens a branded gallery with your name and cover, scrolls the photos, hearts favourites and downloads full-resolution originals — and the gallery stays online until you turn the link off or it reaches an end date you set, where a free WeTransfer link expires after up to 3 days.

Do my clients need an account with CuratePics?

No. Like WeTransfer, clients open a private link with no account, with an optional PIN you choose.

When should I still use WeTransfer?

For a quick transfer with no client experience attached — sending files to a second shooter, an editor or a print lab. That's what it's good at.
